Balkan six countries tour - 8 days


Day 1: Belgrade airport - Belgrade
Arrival by flight to Belgrade Airport. Meet and greet with your English speaking throughout local guide/driver. Start of panoramic sightseeing tour of Belgrade including Belgrade Castle, Clock tower, St Sava Cathedral and Terazije square and House of Flowers (Tito museum). Free time on pedestrian street Knez Mihajlova for leisure and shopping afterwards. Accommodation and overnight in hotel in Belgrade.

Day 2: Belgrade - Smederevo - Topola - Zlatibor  269 km
Breakfast. We start drive through Serbia southwards. After a short drive visit to the Smederevo fortress, a 15th century fort which was the last capital of Medieval Serbia, nowadays an UNESCO protected heritage site. We continue to drive to Topola where we will visit royal mausoleum complex of Oplenac. Here we shall visit the church of St George and the Royal Villa. Free time for traditional lunch in local restaurant. After lunch travel  continues through central Serbia to Zlatibor. Arrival in Zlatibor in the afternoon and accommodation in hotel. Free time for leisure in the beautiful nature. Accomodation and overnight in hotel in Zlatibor.    

Day 3: Zlatibor - Višegrad - Sarajevo 171 km
Breakfast. Visit  to the famous Etno village of Drvengrad (wooden town), where we’ll have the chance to see the traditional village architecture in harmony with the Nature. It is followed with an authentic train ride that will take us back in time. Zlatibor is the best place to taste traditional food so there is opportunity to have optional lunch in local restaurant. After lunch we shall continue our journey and cross the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina. First contact with Bosnian society will be in Višegrad, the beautiful town famous for his stone bridge from the 16th century, also a UNESCO heritage site. Continue our way to the Bosnian capital, known as the “world city” Sarajevo. After arrival we shall do a walking tour in the old bazaar Baščaršija  with its old cobbled streets, oriental shops, mosques and other authentic historical buildings, the Latin Bridge where assassination of Franz Ferdinand took place, Morića Han, the only preserved style inn in Sarajevo built in 1551 and the Town Hall from the Austro-Hungarian era.  Accommodation and overnight in hotel in Sarajevo.

Day 4: Sarajevo - Mostar - Blagaj -  Dubrovnik 279 km
Breakfast. Departure south towards Mostar, the city with fascinating history, beautiful architecture and natural setting in the valley of Neretva River. We start with sightseeing with visit of the Old bridge (UNESCO World heritage), Bey’s Mosque and the Oriental bazaar. We shall make a short drive towards Blagaj, which is on the UNESCO tentative list. Here we’ll enjoy the natural beauty  of the place and there is a possibility to have optional lunch by the river  with the delicious fish trout. After lunch we drive to Dubrovnik in Croatia. Arrival in Dubrovnik in the afternoon, accommodation in hotel, free time. Accomodation and overnight in hotel in Dubrovnik.

Day 5: Dubrovnik - Kotor - Budva 113 km
Breakfast. Morning walking tour in the most beautiful Adriatic city. Walking the Dubrovnik old city tour we shall see and hear about the Stradun Street, the Rectors palace and the Franciscan Monastery. Free time for lunch and shopping. We continue drive to Montenegro in the afternoon. Visit to the magnificent Kotor old city, a UNESCO site today. It is followed by short drive to Budva afterwards. Sightseeing tour of the old town. Accommodation and overnight in hotel in Budva.

Day 6: Budva - Skhoder - Tirana - Ohrid Lake 334 km
Breakfast. Departure for Albania. Short after the border crossing visit to the town of Shkoder with preserved Rozafa castle.The journey continues to Tirana, Albanian capital. Panoramic sightseeing tour of the city during which we will see the Skenderbeg Square, the statue of Skenderbeg, Ethem Bey Mosque, the Clock Tower, the Opera House, the History Museum etc. We continue our journey to Northern Macedonia. Arrival in Ohrid in the afternoon and accommodation in hotel. Free time. Accomodation and overnight in hotel on Ohrid Lake.

Day 7: Ohrid Lake - Skopje 172 km
Breakfast. In the morning today we will head south to enjoy the beautiful nature in St Naum monastery complex with the Drim River springs nearby. We’ll have a ride with small dingy boats on the springs there. We return back to Ohrid for sightseeing of the old city. We’ll visit the St Sophia church, ancient theatre, Samoil fort and the St. Jovan Kaneo church with a marvelous location and view. Departure to Skopje. After arrival we start with sighseeing tour. Starting from the Fortress overlooking the city through the Old Bazaar and over the Stone Bridge to the central square with Aleksandar the Great fountain. Tour continues to Mother Theresa memorial house and Old Railway station where it ends. Accodation and overnight in hotel in Skopje.

Day 8: Skopje - Skopje airport
Breakfast in hotel and free time for leisure or shopping. When the time comes, depending on the flight schedule, departure towards the Skopje airport where the tour ends and we say farewell.

What is included: 8 days/7 nights tour with experienced English speaking driver/guide,  transfers from/to the airport of arrival and departure, transport on a tour, accommodation in 3/4* hotels in twin/double rooms (single rooms possible at supplement), breakfast in hotels.
